Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature wrote: Ós is not just a platform for authors who write in languages other than Icelandic but also for writers born in Iceland who do not fit in the norm for various other reasons. We are sure that this is an important step that will play a role in changing the Icelandic literary landscape.
Ós Pressan announces the launch of its first literary journal as part of the Reykjavík Reads Festival. The journal launch will happen on Thursday, October 20th, at 20:00, at Café Kaffislippur, Hotel Marina, Myrargata 2 in downtown Reykjavík.
The journal, named Ós — The Journal, brings mostly works of prose and poetry from 23 authors writing in six languages: Icelandic, English, Spanish, Flemish, Japanese and Dutch.
“Ós is not just a platform for authors who write in languages other than Icelandic but also for writers born in Iceland who do not fit in the norm for various other reasons,” say Kristín Viðarsdóttir and Lára Aðalsteinsdóttir from Reykjavík Bókmenntaborg UNESCO. “Ós Pressan is the first publishing collective that directly aims to create a platform for these multiple voices.”
